School is rolling along just fine. I'm getting in the groove of things and currently have a high A in all 3 of my classes. I'm making the most of any downtime I have to fill it with studying or finishing up homework. So far, it's working.
I've adjusted my work schedule a little so that I can have a little more sleep. Not much, but enough (hopefully). I'm currently giving this new schedule a trial.
I got a job offer the other day from one of the hospitals. What a hoot! I've been sending in applications just to see what happens. Most of them are for 12-hour weekend shifts so that I can have my weekdays to relax and focus on school. Most are either assistants or Medical Clerical Specialists. On a whim, I applied for a Medical Transcriptionist position at the same hospital that I want to work for as a nurse one day. Within days, they called me. Unfortunately, it's still a "per line" production position, and they wanted me to work 40 hours a week *faints*, but still, it boosted my self esteem greatly. Now if I could just become some type of nursing assistant (non-certified) or an MCS and make enough working two 12-hour shifts to make ends meet, I'd be one happy camper! I think it would benefit me to no end to be employed working IN a hospital as I approach nursing school. I'd truly LOVE that. But as of right now, my manager is allowing quite a bit of flexibility, and when I can produce lines at a decent pace, I can't beat the pay to be at home in my pajamas working hours that *I* requested. I feel truly blessed even if I'm pooped beyond reason trying to keep it all juggled.
