Step two...

Well, I called the HR department, who then transferred me to Recruitment. I got the voicemail for the recruitment rep and left a message.

She called me back within 15 minutes or so.

What followed was one of those conversations where you feel really good after you click the phone's "off" button.

In a somewhat short conversation, we talked about a LOT. She is very familiar with my employment history, my current career, and what I'm shooting for in the next few years.

The conversation flowed really well between us, and I felt confident while speaking with her.

She's not the hiring manager, but she DID review it and forward it on to the hiring manager along with an email stating she'd spoken to me on the phone.

That's gotta count for something, right?

She suggested that I NOT bring the paper resume into the hospital because they don't really "do" the paper resumes anymore - they're all reviewed online and the process goes from there.

The only downside is that she said they've gotten a HUGE response to this posting with (and I quote) "hundreds of applicants."

*sigh*

I've given it my best, and we'll see what happens from there. :D

If I don't get it, I'll simply brush off my britches and keep on lookin'.
